The Royal Oasis Resort in the Naama Bay region of Sharm el Sheikh is a 4 star hotel that is popular among couples and families.  The resort offers picturesque views and a variety of activities and claims to provide a luxurious holiday experience, however this is unfortunately not always the case for many visitors.  Cases of  avoidable holiday illness have been reported by visitors staying at the Royal Oasis Resort.

Sickholiday.com have dealt with 11 cases of reported food poisoning at the Royal Oasis Resort.

Many visitors to the Royal Oasis Resort have reported being served either under cooked food or food that had been left out for long periods of time.  Holidaymakers have also observed unacceptable standards of housekeeping and cleanliness.

Symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea and high temperatures have been common and are usually related to food poisoning or coming into contact with unclean water.  This had led to many all-inclusive holidays being ruined and many holidaymakers left out of pocket.

Whilst staying in the Royal Oasis resort it is important to follow these guidelines to reduce the risk of food poisoning and other holiday illnesses:

  • Avoid foods not cooked thoroughly and/or re-heated incorrectly.
  • Avoid foods not prepared hygienically.
  • Avoid food not stored at the correct temperature.
  • Frequently use an alcohol-based hand gel.
  • Avoid salads and any uncooked fruits and vegetables (these may have been handled unhygienically)
  • Avoid swimming in water or pools that appear dirty and untreated.

In the event that you do get ill Sickholiday advise that you seek medical attention whilst on holiday as this will greatly increase your chances of making an eligible claim upon your return.

It is your tour operators’ responsibility to make sure you are provided with a safe, clean and hygienic hotel.

“THE FOOD WAS REHEATED AGAIN AND AGAIN!”

[ezcol_1half]6199hotel_royal_oasis_resort1hotel[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]Vomiting and Diarrhoea was not promoted when Miss H purchased her annual holiday from Holiday Gems. She booked a week’s stay in the Royal Oasis Resort overlooking Namma bay with promises of good food, good weather and a fairly priced hotel.  Instead Miss H’s hotel was the complete opposite and was unable to fly home for a further four days after her holiday finished due to illness.

Staff are reported to use bare hands to handling food, reusing and reheating the same food repeatedly until eaten and to serve food at a tepid temperature.
