The Coral Sea Aqua Club in Sharm El Sheikh, is a hugely popular hotel with many holidaymakers visiting each year.  With swimming pools and an onsite water park the hotel promises an all inclusive family friendly holiday experience.

Sickholiday.com have dealt with 71 cases of reported food poisoning at the Coral Sea Aqua Club.

Visitors to the resort have reported unacceptable standards, such food left out in the open and watered down drinks.  These very poor hygiene standards have lead to Sickholiday.com dealing with reports of visitors suffering from severe diarrhoea, stomach cramps and high temperatures.  Theses symptoms have lead to many all-inclusive holidays being ruined and many holidaymakers left out of pocket.

Whilst staying in the Coral Sea Aqua Club it is important to follow these guidelines to reduce the risk of food poisoning and other holiday illnesses:

  • Avoid foods not cooked thoroughly and/or re-heated incorrectly.
  • Avoid foods not prepared hygienically.
  • Avoid food not stored at the correct temperature
  • Frequently use an alcohol-based hand gel.
  • Avoid salads and any uncooked fruits and vegetables (these may have been handled unhygienically)
  • Avoid swimming in water or pools that appear dirty and untreated.

In the event that you do get ill Sickholiday advise that you seek medical attention whilst on holiday as this will greatly increase your chances of making an eligible claim upon your return.

It is your tour operators’ responsibility to make sure you are provided with a safe, clean and hygienic hotel.

INFLAMMATION OF THE GUT

AFTER HOLIDAY AT THE

CORAL SEA AQUA CLUB

“Mother and daughter both fell ill.”

[ezcol_1third]AFRICAEGYPTEGYPT-REDSEASHARMELSHEIKHRES_001544CORALSEAOASIS[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_1third]Mrs A went on a 2 week family holiday to the Coral Sea Aqua club. Mrs A fell ill into the second week of her holiday, with stomach cramps and diarrhoea. This lasted a week and a half into her return to the UK. Mrs A also had to look after her young daughter, taking her to and from hospital as she had the same illness.  [/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_1third_end]When describing the food and drink Mrs A said the meat for the barbeque was left out in the baking sun, cakes were left out in the open and the fruit juices tasted watered down. Mrs A had some examinations by her GP when she returned home who told her she had an inflammation of the gut caused by an infection picked up in Egypt. GASTROENTERITIS & PNEUMONIA

AFTER STAYING AT THE

CORAL SEA AQUA CLUB

“A month after her return and she was still suffering!”

[ezcol_1third]11826279[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_1third]Mrs H only spent 7 days in this resort but the effects of her stay were dismal. After 5 days in resort Mrs H developed flu-like symptoms and began feeling nauseous. By the end of her holiday Mrs H was confined to her room with diarrhoea and vomiting, she also felt very fatigued and had a temperature. As she was at her peak of illness at the very end of the holiday it made the long flight home extremely difficult. On her arrival back in the UK Mrs P consulted her doctor who reportedly diagnosed her with Gastroenteritis and shockingly Pneumonia.[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_1third_end]

A report was taken from Mrs H a month after her return and she was still suffering with Pneumonia. The doctors told her it was caused by the air-conditioning systems in the hotel. She had numerous X-rays and needs to see a lung specialist. This illness has caused a lot of complications in her life. In the report taken Mrs H said she noticed the air-conditioning smelt like gas. The doctor in the hospital also told her the Gastroenteritis she suffered from was from undercooked food being washed in Egyptian tap water (e.g. Salad, and fruit). “The worst holiday ever!”

Review of the Coral Sea Aqua Club

“People were saying how ill they had been from the food! Would not let my worst enemy stay at that hotel. Our holiday was a nightmare and by the time we got to the next hotel we were ready to go home as we’d had enough!”
