Mrs S travelled to the Grand Bahia Principe in the Dominican Republic in May 2015. As the holiday was for the couple’s wedding anniversary they were particularly upset to have the holiday ruined by illness. Around 3 days into the holiday Mrs S started experiencing severe diarrhoea and nausea.
Shortly after this Mrs S was forced to visit the hotel doctor and was sent to the local hospital. She was given medication and an injection for the symptoms. To add to the problems Mr S also came down with symptoms which meant they were both unwell and couldn’t celebrate their anniversary. On Return to the UK Mrs S had to visit the G.P and was ill for a total of 14 days.

“My daughter, myself and my husband got sick while we were there from the food. My sister in law who stayed an extra 5 days just returned only to be hospitalised from severe diarrhoea, vomiting and fever.”
“Stay away! Crooked employees and sickness from the food!”
Review of the Grand Bahia Principle
“I travelled with approximately 20 people. Every single person got very, very sick. Vomiting and diarrhea for 1 -2 days. Literally every single person except for myself. We think it was the food but obviously something is up!”
