Mr F stayed at Le Royal Holiday Resort in March 2014. Mr F and his 3 year old daughter fell ill a few days into the holiday. Mr F suffered with severe diarrhoea and stomach cramps. He had some Imodium from home which he had to take for the remainder of the holiday.

When they returned home, Mr F gave a stool sample to his general practice which tested positive for Shigella. They treated this with antibiotics.

Mr F noted that he saw flies around the pool water which were then landing on the food in the buffet. He also spoke to other guests in the hotel with similar symptoms.

Miss D stayed at Le Royal Holiday Resort in June 2014. Miss D fell ill whilst she was pregnant 2 days into the holiday with severe gastric symptoms. She spent the majority of her holiday in bed. The symptoms did start to ease off as the holiday went on so she managed to get out to the pool a few times. Her diarrhoea and stomach cramps continued for 10 days. She could not take any medication to help her illness as she was pregnant. Miss D drank a lot of water and ate plain foods to prevent her getting any worse.
